Cagey about Batman supervillain role

Nicholas Cage is losing credibility as quickly as he is hair these days. So he may not be high on director Christopher Nolan’s list of potential Batman 3 super-villains – if and when he constructs one.
But the self-confessed comic book nut Cage has a hankering for a role in the next installment of The Dark Knight – if and when it goes into production.
After missing out on playing Superman about 10 years after the then Man of Steel reboot was first planned and then fell apart at the seams of his big red undies, Cage whetted his appetite just a bit in 2007 playing Ghost Rider.
But, while the movie made just over $100-million at the US box office – and did feature Eva Mendez – there was so much not to like about the film, aside from the fact the character, with flaming head, is a bit dodgy as well.
Promoting his new film Knowing, Cage was recently asked by MTV News whether or not he would like to appear in the Batman franchise, and on the side of evil?
“I would love to play a super-villain. I think that would be a whole lot of fun,” Cage told MTV News, welcoming an invite to take on Nolan’s Caped Crusader. “Yeah. If they call and invite me, I’d do it. Certainly.”
After starring in a string of flops – The Wicker Man, Bangkok Dangerous, Next – not to mention some decidedly corny crap – National Treasure 1 and 2 - in the recent years, Cage could certainly do with being apart of a decent flick.
He is after all an Academy Award winner too.
But, who could he play? The Riddler?
