There really isn’t much to this first Thor movie poster, but that could be what makes it a good starting point before they release all the action packed versions of the posters. The first official movie trailer for Thor will be shown before The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader which opens in theaters today.
The newest film in the line of Marvel Comics heroes movies which will culminate in 2012 with the release of The Avengers won’t be in theaters until May 6th, 2011, but since it is December it is time to start advertising for the Summer Blockbuster season. The cast of this sure to be blockbuster includes NAtalie Portman, Kat Dennings, Stellan Skarsgard, Ray Stevenson, Clark Gregg, Rene Russo, Tom Hiddleton, Jaimie Alexander, Colm Feore, and Anthony Hopkins as Thor’s father Odin. Kenneth Branagh is directing the film.
Portraying Thor will be Chris Hemsworth a 27 year old actor from Melbourne, Australia. Hemsworth in the past two years has appeared in films like Ca$h, A Perfect Getaway, and as George Kirk in Star Trek. He will also star as Jed Eckert in the remake of Red Dawn also due out in 2011.
