I saw this movie listed in my DirecTV program guide, and saw James Denton and Chris Kattan as its stars. It made me very curious to see what it was all about. Just remember that saying about curiosity and a cat.
It is one of the worst movies I have ever seen, BUT it had quite a few moments that almost made it worth me watching it. I think it was mainly because I like both Denton and Kattan. Add in an odd, short, yet good performance from Brian Posehn, and a few good scenes with Leslie Jordan, not to mention Navi Rawat’s hotness and I was hooked. I also love in the opening that it is billed as… Undead of Alive – A Zomedy.
The movie is set in the old west. Denton portrays an Army deserter who was part of the company that forced Geronimo to jump off a cliff. Geronimo left behind a curse for the white people. A curse that would turn them into zombies. Kattan is a wannabe cowboy who first gets into a fight with Denton’s character, but when they break out of jail together they become friends and partners while on the run from the law. While on the run and asleep Navi Rawat’s character comes into the scene. She is Geronimo’s niece and is out for revenge against the soldiers that killed him. She was going to rob Denton and Kattan, but changed her mind when Denton says he can lead her to the soldiers. Along the way more and more zombies show up because once one bites someone they too become undead.
The soldiers wind up capturing the threesome, but when they get back to the fort they find it is full of zombies. The threesome manage to break free and get all the undead soldiers out of the fort while they stayed in it for protection. They find an escape route but not before Denton is turned into a zombie. He finds it hard to resist taking a bite out of Kattan too. At that piont they realize they had learned of one cure for the curse…they needed to eat the live flesh of the Medicine Man that made the curse. Luckily they have Rawat there to munch on. Denton and Kattan then ride off into the sunset. The end…well not quite the end. First Posehn’s character gets his happy ending too, after digging up his now undead wife and child that he had killed.
One of the funniest things in the movie is Kattan’s name for his horse and his guns. His beloved horse is named Frisky. His guns are named Sparkles and Sunshine. Meanwhile Denton’s rifle is named Henry.
The movie really does have its moments. Warning though, it also has its zombies eating brains with blood moments too.
Here is the clip of when Rawat’s character captures Denton and Kattan. Ladies? Enjoy Denton’s bare butt in the scene…well sort of.
