This is another great looking comedy that opens this weekend. I love Ashton Kutcher’s comedy side of things as opposed to his drama roles. Although, that could change if I actually watch more of his drama roles. He is very talented and is probably pretty good in those roles too, I just haven’t seen them yet. Katherine Heigl is usually great in comedic roles too. It is good to see both of these small screen stars blossoming on the big screen. Heigl is also starring in Life As We Know It alongside Josh Duhamel (another small screen star from one of my favorite shows, Las Vegas) later this year. Her quitting Grey’s Anatomy seems to be working out as her movies roles seem to be getting better and better.
This film looks even funnier in the longer trailer than it did in commercials. I love the scene in the truck where he has to get the gun out of the passenger seat. I really do think it will have a huge opening weekend with the only movie coming close being Get Him to the Greek. Hard to say which one will have the better weekend, but I am thinking Splice will be a distant third place of the new releases this weekend. Sex and the City could be in the top three overall though.
