Looks as though director Ridley Scott is putting a new ‘spin’ on the legendary Robin Hood tale with his own upcoming big screen adaptation. Out are horses, and in come … jeeps?
This is the latest picture snapped during filming on the Russell Crowe-driven blockbuster that was formally known as Nottingham, but has apparently reverted to plain old Robin Hood.

A major motion picture ’vehicle’ for the Academy Award-winning star who also teamed with Scott for the epic Gladiator, among others, Crowe looks as though he could be the wheel deal when it comes to portraying the 12th century Brit who allegedly stole from the rich to give to the poor.
It makes you wonder if he and his merry men have hot-wired this little number from a wealthy landowner and are taking it for a joy ride. The merry men in question here are Scott Grimes as Will Scarlett, in the front seat and Kevin Durand as Little John, in the back.
Not sure who the other guy is though. Possibly a driving instructor?
Robin Hood is due for release in August 2010, and I only hope viewers have not tyred of the character as Scott’s version will no doubt be one hell of a wild ride. Okay, I’m done with the puns.
